Orthodontic mini-implants (OMIs) are used as anchorage devices during orthodontic treatment. Meursinge Reynders carries out a number of systematic reviews in order to quantify success rates of OMIs, identify variables associated with these success rates and quantify adverse effects of interventions using OMIs. He also assesses whether OMIs with root contact have higher insertion torque values than those without and identifies barriers and facilitators to the implementation of OMIs in clinical practice.
