The aim of Rianne van den Berg’s research is to describe the effects of collective behavior in low-dimensional quantum many-body systems that are closely related to experimental settings. She looks at three types of settings, starting with a model describing the dynamics in a quantum dot, continuing with an experimental realization of a spin chain, and finally finishing with models closely related to experiments in cold atomic gases.
