In a legal and forensic context, it is common for two competing propositions to be presented to the person or persons responsible for determining facts in a legal proceeding. In forensic casework, it is common that multiple pieces of evidence need to be evaluated in terms of their support regarding the presented propositions. Jacob de Zoete investigates how the evaluation of different pieces of evidence can be optimally combined in a number of different scenarios.
