Annually, over a quarter of a trillion US dollars are spent on biomedical research worldwide. There have been increasing concerns that these funds are not allocated as efficinetly as they could be. These concerns have mainly been studied in relation to issues concerning the planning and conduct of research. The aim of Daniël Korevaar’s research is to uncover tthe extent of similar problems and deficiencies in the process of publishing and reporting diagnostic accuracy studies, the ultimate goal being to increase value in diagnostic research.
