Döske van der Wilk investigates how interventions in the public space of a gentrifying neighbourhood influences how the space is used and by whom. She conducts a qualitative study of four squares in the Oosterparkbuurt, an Amsterdam neighbourhood popular among middle class groups. She asks who is involved in interventions relating to the design, programming and surveillance of the public space, what their intentions and motivations are, and what the impact of interventions are on the use and users of public space.
