The mesodiencephalic dopaminergic (mdDA) group of neurons is involved in motor control, motivation, reward and additions. Much research has been performed on the development of mdDA neurons and the distribution into different subsets. Simone Mesman investigates the factors that are involved in the generation of mdDA neurons during early specification in the Floor Plate (FP) and the late differentiation into the distinct subsets of the mdDA neuronal population.
