Daniela Herrea Moro Chao’s research focuses on glycosphingolipids. These are structural components of membranes, specific forms of which are present in myelin, the fatty sheaths surrounding the axons of neuronal cells in the brain. She investigates glycosphingolipids and their metabolizing enzymes in the brain using state-of-the-art techniques.
