Alex Wagemakers’s research focuses on novel candidates and vaccination strategies to prevent Lyme’s disease. He focuses on the interactions between the carrier (ticks), the host and the pathogen, Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato spirochetes, and the implications these interactions have for host immunity and vaccination strategies.
