In the Netherlands, forensic child and youth care services are directed towards providing care to juveniles whose safety has been declared to be in danger and to juveniles who have committed one or more criminal offenses. A more general aim of the youth care system is to be ahead of intervening in a young person’s life under a civil or penile title. Mark Assink aims to increase the body of knowledge on risk factors and the magnitude of their effects leading to forensic care needs of juveniles and improve risk assessment procedures of the forensic child and youth care system.
