It is estimated that around 80% of all sexually active individuals is infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV) at some point in their lives. Catharina Alberts describes the epidemiology of HPV and the social-psychological aspects of HPV vaccination acceptability in different minority populations. The populations she focuses on are people with various ethnic backgrounds and men who have sex with men.
