Childhood trauma is related to the development of several serious psychiatric disorders, both in childhood and adulthood. Daniëlla van Dam focuses on the association between childhood trauma and psychosis. Her aims are to enhance the body of knowledge with regard to specific associations between different types of trauma, symptom course and psychosocial functioning, and to investigate possible underlying mechanisms by which childhood trauma influences the development of psychosis.
