Marijke Metz studies coparenting, the way in which parents work together and relate to each other in their parenting roles, and the role it plays in the development of anxiety in children. She investigates whether coparenting mediates he associations between fearful temperament in infants to subsequent anxiety. She also investigates whether the prenatal factors of parental anxiety and parental relationship satisfaction were associated with coparenting, and whether these two factors moderate the associations between child temperamental predispositions to anxiety, coparenting and child anxiety.
