Jan Pieter Marchal investigates the effects of thyroid hormone treatment (T4) in children with Down syndrome in the first two years of life and as a follow-up at the age of 10.7 years. He also studies the health-related quality of life and family functioning, and describes the results of a psychosocial screening instrument, which assesses the burden that parents experience and the occurrence of 34 common everyday problems.
