Using prior knowledge has always been a crucial step in scientific research. Currently, the rapid development of high throughput experimental techniques allows to further develop the use of prior knowledge. Polina Reshetova explores the use of prior knowledge as a basis for biological systems modelling and analysis. Specifically, she discusses the incorporation of prior knowledge in the analysis of high throughput data in transcriptonomics and metabolomics and the use of incomplete prior knowledge to build models of biological systems.
