Ruth Versteeg investigates the relation between the brain, nutrition and metabolism in lean, obese and insulin-resistant people. More specifically, she looks at changes in the central dopaminergic and serotoninergic systems under different metabolic conditions. She also focuses on the effects of meal timing on the brain and glucose metabolism and the impact of light exposure on glucose and lipid metabolism.
