Gideon Lasco investigates the construction, meanings and material culture of height (human stature) in the Philippines, through research into the cultural history of height in this country and an ethnographic study of adolescents in the city Puerto Princesa. One of the aspects he focuses on is the practices aimed at stimulating growth in children.
