Behavioural manipulation of insect pest species is an environmentally friendly approach in integrated pest management. However, there are many pest species for which efficient methods have yet to be developed. Seyed Hosseini investigates host finding and mating behaviours of two important insect pests, the carob moth and the tobacco budworm, as a first step towards creating new, rigorous behavioural manipulation tools.
