Many economic activities are fundamentally influenced by individuals' social identities and social preferences. Incorporating identity into standard economic analysis can therefore provide a compelling approach to understanding important social phenomena. Jin-Di Zheng carries out a number of experiments focusing on economic behaviour in a social context. Topics she explores include the relationship between social status and pro-social behaviour and comparative wage satisfaction.
