Mikki Stelder carries out a critical examination of the role played by gay rights in Israel's branding efforts, and how the gay tourism industry impacts Israel's image globally. She focuses specifically on the way inclusion of Israeli gays and lesbians in the branding identity serves to obscure the colonization of Palestine and Palestinians. She also looks at Palestinian Decolonial-Queer responses to this phenomenon, known as 'pinkwashing'.
