Matthijs Scheltema carries out research into focal therapy for localised prostate cancer. Focal therapy allows the tumour lesion to be selectively treated while adjacent structures that are important for genito-urinary functioning and quality of life are spared. The main aim is to evaluate the current standard of focal therapy with irreversible electrportation and advance this treatment paradigm.
