In the treatment of choledocholithiasis, endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC) is a well-established method used to clear bile ducts before a laproscopic cholecystectomy is performed. Sandra Donkervoort investigates whether the severity of the inflammatory reaction, adhesion formation and the severity of fibrosis encountered during surgery is dependent on the tming of the interval between the two procedures.
