Deep convolutional networks are a core ingredient of modern artificial intellingence systems and the workhorse of computer vision. The aim of Jörn-Henrik Jacobsen's research is to increase our understanding of how these networks achieve their impressive performance and of the core principles they exploit. To do this, he magnifies, structures and analyses various aspects of learned representations.
