Claartje Thijs investigates whether the diversity of the workforce in terms of gender and ethnicity affects ethnic and gender ingroup preferences. She uses group threat and group contact theory to explain the potential effects of workforce diversity. She studies ingroup preference via two specific phenomena, dismissals and support for preferential treatment.
