Patricia Kruit investigates the effectiveness of instruction methods aimed at teaching science skills to pupils in grades 5 and 6 of primary education in the Netherlands. Her findings show that science lessons can improve skills when carefully structured and set up with opportunities to practice skills in scientific inquiry tasks.
