Sensory information is collected by our senses and sent to specialised areas of the brain. Visual information first enters the neocortex via the primary visual cortex. It was long assumed that this area only processes visual information, and that the integration of different senses happens in specialised areas of the brain. Guido Meijer investigates a hypothesis that other sensory information is already integrated in the primary visual cortex.
