Quantum computers can dramatically increase the speed of certain calculations, but are still difficult to construct in practice. Koen Groenland focuses on near-term experiments with devices containing small numbers of qubits (10 - 200) in which information can be stored only briefly. He describes theoretical protocols for such devices.
