The University of Amsterdam has started research into how big data is used by businesses, government organisations, and other institutions. In collaboration with ORTEC Consulting Group, an extensive survey has been set up to compile information on the acceptance and implementation of big data by businesses.
Research focus includes aspects such as factors determining the success of a big data strategy, the role played by academic institutions, and ways to encourage the use of big data. Researchers will also look specifically at attracting and retaining talented programmers and analysts who can introduce and implement big data applications into business operations.
The research survey will continue until 19 September. The results will be announced at the end of October.
