Professor Hans Amman, a member of the Executive Board of the University of Amsterdam and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (UvA-AUAS), has confirmed his intention to step down and to focus his energies on his academic duties. To ensure continuity, Prof. Amman has agreed to stay on in his position until the appointment of new board members.
Hans Amman is professor of Computational Economics at the UvA and vice-president of the Executive Board. The Supervisory Boards regret his decision. ‘Professor Amman has made an immense contribution towards structuring the financial strategy of the UvA-AUAS. We are saying goodbye to an expert and accessible board member’, says Atzo Nicolaï, chair of the UvA-AUAS Supervisory Boards. Professor Amman will step down by 1 September at the latest.
Nicolaï: ‘We can further confirm that the procedure for appointing a new president and a rector is going well. Naturally, we are not at liberty to make any further announcements until the procedure has been completed. The procedure will continue as planned.’
