More winter weather expected in the coming days

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) expects the wintry conditions to continue for a few more days. Weather alert code orange is in effect on Wednesday, 7 January. Further weather warnings are anticipated in the coming days. Please keep a close eye on KNMI updates and follow their advice. The winter weather is also affecting traffic: fewer trains are running, many services are cancelled, and there are long traffic jams.

UvA buildings remain open

All University of Amsterdam (UvA) buildings are open in principle. However, it may be slippery, especially on bridges and near the canals. Please take extra care when travelling to campus.

Impact on teaching

In most cases, teaching at the UvA will continue as usual. Some lectures may take place online, and in certain cases, lectures or exams may be cancelled. Your degree programme will keep you informed. Be sure to check Canvas or the usual communication channel for your programme regularly.
