On Monday, 25 May, the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the worldwide accreditation organisation for business schools, signed a collaborative agreement to streamline the accreditation process for economics and business administration programmes.
With this agreement, all processes and procedures required for both the AACSB and NVAO accreditations can be completed with one comprehensive review process. This will reduce the administrative burden, also at the UvA’s Faculty of Economics and Business.
In his role as chair of the national consultation platform for academic disciplines ( landelijke disciplineoverleg), Prof. Han van Dissel, dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, invested a great deal of effort in the agreement. Van Dissel: ‘Programmes do not have to be subjected to the same process – of both the AACSB and NVAO – twice. In November the AACSB committee will visit the FEB to accredit our programmes. The AACSB inspection will subsequently be used for the reaccreditation of the same programmes by the NVAO.'
