Furthermore, her research examines the objectives of energy legislation, both at the European and national levels, as well as the constitutional requirements.

Pront-van Bommel has served as the director of the UvA’s Centre for Energy Issues ever since its establishment in January 2010. The centre works on research and education related to the public and private provision of energy from a European and national market organisation perspective. Previously, Pront-van Bommel held various positions affiliated with the Constitutional and Administrative Law Department of the UvA. From 2000 up to 2008 she worked as a lawyer specialised in European administrative law with a focus in areas that included spatial planning, media law and pharmaceutical and health law.
