In the Bachelor's programme in Classics (taught in Dutch: Griekse en Latijnse taal en cultuur), you will focus language acquisition, which also gives prominence to themes such as archaeology, ancient history, philosophy and cultural history.

In line with this broad array of perspectives, the Master’s programme Classics and Ancient Civilizations offers specialisations in narratology, intertextuality and the reception of classical ideas. Students are hereby able to specialise in their own interests without losing sight of the bigger picture. Also notable are the specialist study paths in Medieval Latin, Neo-Latin and Byzantine languages.

All of the components expose students to primary sources and relevant academic debates, thereby training them to become participants in said debates themselves.
