The Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research (AIHR) is a broad research institute covering research in all important subdisciplines of the humanities.
The wide range of research covered by the AIHR is organised in five research schools, which together form the Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research. Within the institute research in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage is carried out mostly as part of Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory and Material Culture (AHM).
The Faculty of Humanities welcomes guests researchers and external researchers planning to come to the UvA with their own research funding through the Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research.
AIHR includes a Grant Team that offers researchers strategic guidance in preparing and writing grant proposals, as well as an Ethics Committee to provide formal approval before articles that involve interviews or experiments with human test subjects are published or a subsidy is granted.
