The Impact of Science in Conservation Practice
Historical study of pigment analyses and conservation treatments of painted surfaces in the long 19th century
This research aims to understand the influences between Materials Science and Conservation Practice through the study of pigment analyses in the period from 1750 to 1950.
This project is part of the ERC-funded project ‘ARTECHNE: Technique in the Arts, 1500–1950: Concepts, Practices, Expertise’.
