Linguistic research is managed by the Amsterdam Center for Language and Communication and consists of two research programmes. The programme The Language Blueprint (link) seeks insight into the universal aspects of linguistic phenomena by studying it from various angles, while the programme Learnability concerns itself with the questions of what makes languages learnable, how the learning process takes place, and how this process can explain language change and variation. Within these two programmes specific themes are developed in different research groups. Each research group consists of multiple researchers who collaborate with one another, each from his/her own specific theoretical perspective and with knowledge of different languages, language types or language families. This approach enables the groups to successfully realise their main research goal.
