UvA Matching for Dutch prior education

Students who have completed their prior education in the Netherlands

You will take part in UvA Matching after you have applied for a Bachelor’s programme. UvA Matching is designed to help you assess whether you have chosen the right programme.

It will give you a chance to get to know the programme before starting your studies and check if it is the right fit. Choosing the right programme will increase your chances of successfully completing your Bachelor’s.

What is UvA Matching?

UvA Matching is part of application process and takes place after you have submitted your application for a Bachelor’s programme. During UvA Matching, you will attend a lecture for the Bachelor’s programme that you have chosen. Afterwards, you will study the course material at home and conclude UvA Matching with a test.

You will receive personal advice based on your test results. This will help you determine whether your chosen Bachelor’s programme matches your interests and capabilities, and whether you have the motivation and study skills to start the programme in September.

  • Teaching day: you will attend a lecture at the UvA
  • Independent study: you will study the course material
  • Test

Please note: the Faculty of Economics and Business programmes will be offering an online version of UvA Matching. This will include an online lecture, videos and test. There will also be an opportunity to visit the UvA in June for a meeting with the programme and your fellow students.

The dates for UvA Matching differ per programme. Check the programme information to see specific dates.
