I’m planning to do an exchange at the UvA. Will this go ahead?
You will be able to travel to Amsterdam to participate in the exchange programme, provided that:
-
there are no travel restrictions installed by your national government for travelling to the Netherlands;
-
there are no border restrictions in place by the Dutch government for travelers from your country of residence;
-
your home university allows you to participate in the exchange programme.
Consequently, we would advise students to refrain from spending any money on anything (such as booking a flight) that is not strictly necessary at the present time.
Upon arrival in the Netherlands, you will be expected to adhere to any and all safety measures imposed by the Dutch government to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
If you have any questions on your specific exchange programme, please contact the UvA International Offices for more information.
-
-
Will the courses at the UvA be offered on-campus?
Yes, they will. All restrictions on teaching, exams, events or other activitities on campus have been lifted.
For further information, please check the UvA Coronavirus information website.
-
Can I follow all my courses online instead of travelling to Amsterdam?
No, unfortunately, you cannot.
Deferral
-
Can I defer my exchange?
This decision has to be made by your home university. Please contact the international office of your home university for their procedure. In case you receive permission to defer, your home university needs to nominate you again. In case you decide to defer make sure to inform your UvA exchange coordinator.
-
If it is possible to defer my exchange, do I need to submit a new application?
Yes, we will need up-to-date information from you and therefore we will ask you to submit a new application if your home university nominates you again.
-
I have deferred my exchange but now I would like to cancel, what should I do?
Inform both your home university as well as your UvA exchange coordinator.
