The Early Bird deadlines for the 2019-2020 academic year are:
The UvA charges this fee to cover the expenses incurred in making housing available to international students. This fee is necessary to cover the extra costs of providing international students with a room instantly upon arrival.
No, that is not possible. If you receive a room offer via the UvA and decline it, the fee will not be refunded. However, if we are not able to offer you a room, we will refund the fee.
No, there is no guarantee.
Unfortunately, housing in Amsterdam is scarce. Based on last year’s registration numbers we have an accommodation available for roughly half of the incoming international UvA students, so many students have to find their own housing.
We advise you to submit your application for accommodation as soon as possible after you have received the invitation to fill out your housing application.
If you apply for accommodation after the early bird deadline, allocation is based upon availability. Please note that the fee charged by the UvA will be higher if you apply after the early bird deadline.
