  • Profile

I've been working in the Department of Communication Science since 2006. I received my M.Sc. degree (Cum Laude) and Ph.D. degree (Cum Laude) in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam.

My current interests as a communication scientist focus on communication of factual political information and its effects. I am interested in learning more about the transmission of such information within media environments across space and time; the short and long term influence of facts on public opinion; and about if and when factual political information can foster good citizenship.

My work has been published in key international peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Journal of Communication, Communication Research, Political Communication, European Union Politics, and European Journal of Political Research.

I teach in the Bachelor, Pre-Master, and Master programs in Communication Science.
