Jens Lange studied psychology at the University of Potsdam. During this time, he also passed internships at the University of Lausanne and the Radboud University Nijmegen. He completed his studies in 2012. Afterwards, he started his PhD in social psychology at the University of Cologne, which he finished in 2016. Moreover, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), he spent three months at the University of British Columbia. Currently, he is working as a PostDoc in the social psychology group at the University of Amsterdam with the help of a research stipend granted by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
