    Sara Özoğul is a postdoctoral researcher and project manager in the ORA-funded Project What Is Governed in Cities: Residential Investment Landscapes and the Governance and Regulation of Housing Production. She also supervises three PhD students, and teaches in the MSc Urban & Regional Planning and the BSc Social Geography & Planning programmes at the UvA.

    Furthermore, Sara is the Head of Research of the Urban Governance Research Network UGoveRN, coordinates the UGoveRN Planning+Property Chapter, and leads the Connect21 project, which brought together a group of international planning and real estate scholars, network organisations and professionals to collaboratively develop four public webinars and two early-career seminars in 2021 in order to bridge knowledge gaps in global urban real estate research.  

    Sara obtained her PhD with the title Transformative Spatial Governance: New Avenues for Comprehensive Planning in Fragmented Urban Development under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tuna Tasan-Kok from the University of Amsterdam, and holds a MSc in Urban Studies (distinction) from University College London and a BA in Social Sciences (summa cum laude) from University College Roosevelt.
