I'm an (economic) anthropologist working mainly in East Indonesia, focussing on youth and their educated subjectivities, rural-urban connections, (global) flows of people and goods, and commodity chains. I obtained my PhD from the University of Western Australia, and I have extensive fieldwork experience. Currently, I'm studying fish commodity chains, food security and nutrition, and (young) entrepreneurs on Sumba. Before, I studied the so-called troubled education-to-work transitions of young people in central Flores, who had returned to their rural natal communities upon graduating from city-based universities.
