  • Profile

Diliara is a PhD candidate in the CORPNET research group. Her current project is on corporate executives and owners of large corporations, or corporate elites. Corporate elites are powerful and influential but we still do not know how they are connected with each other on a global scale. For her PhD, she studies how corporate elites build their careers, sit on the same boards, and influence decision-making all over the world. To investigate these questions, she uses a large dataset on 200 million corporations and computational network analysis methods.

Before joining UvA, Diliara worked at the Laboratory for Institutional Analysis of Economic Reforms in Moscow and at Sociology of Education and Science Laboratory in St Petersburg, studying student friendship networks and the social history of biology and medicine.

The current CV can be downloaded from here.
