I am a PhD candidate at UvA, supervised by dr. Bastiaan Rutjens and prof. dr. Frenk van Harreveld. In my PhD research, I work on the psychology of science scepticism across various domains (climate change, vaccination, evolution, genetically modified foods, novel technologies). I approach science sceptical beliefs through various perspectives, such as motivated cognition and scientific consensus messaging. Furthermore, I work on developing the psychological distance to science model in order to better understand science scepticism across various domains.
I am broadly interested in belief systems, their antecedents as well as consequences. This includes (but is not limited to) conspiracy beliefs and other ideological beliefs. In addition, I am very interested in using psychological science for the greater good, in particular with regard to climate change and the sustainability transition. I routinely use open science and transparent research practices in my work.
Before coming to the UvA, I completed my Bachelor and (research) Master studies in psychology at the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
