In September 2017 I finished my research master degree in Human Movement Sciences at the University of Groningen. During my master I specialised in healthy aging. January 2018, I started as a junior researcher at the Developmental Psychology department of the University of Amsterdam. Together with my colleagues, I am involved in the UvAcare project; a large RCT to screen all (PhD) students of the UvA for common (mental) health complaints. We developed an eHealth CBT intervention aiming to reduce mild to severe symptoms of anxiety and depression. Since 2019 I am working on my joint PhD program with the UvA and Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia) under supervision of dr. Anke Klein (Leiden University), Prof. Reinout Wiers (UvA), Prof. Viviana Wutchrich (MQ), and Prof. Ronald Rapee (MQ). My joint PhD focusses on loneliness and social isolation in relation to mental health (social anxiety, depression) in young and older adults. In order to increase our understanding of the underlying mechanisms of loneliness, related to mental health, we investigate cognitive biases.
