After completing your Bachelor’s, you can choose to start a job right away. Graduates have different positions, such as press officer, strategist at an advertising agency, social media adviser, news editor, or campaign manager. Alternatively, you can choose to pursue a Master's degree to further specialise in Communication Science or prepare for a PhD.

Subsequent Master's programmes

After completing this Bachelor's programme, you are directly admissible for the 1-year Master's programmes in Communication Science, and you can also apply for the selection procedure for the 2-year Research Master's programme. 

Master's in Communication Science
  • Research Master's

    Do you want to dive even deeper into academic research and your interests in the field of Communication Science? Then this 2-year Research Master's might be interesting for you. This Research Master's combines theoretical courses about the production, use, and impact of information and media with academic-level research. You will also do an internship at a company or participate in research at a research institute. This is good preparation for a PhD or a research position at a professional organisation.

  • Master's Persuasive Communication

    After completing the Bachelor's degree, you are directly admissible to the Master's in Persuasive Communication. In this 1-year Master's programme you will study a variety of marketing and health communication theories and learn how to apply these theories to challenging problems of consumer and health-related behaviour.

  • Master's Entertainment Communication

    After completing the Bachelor's degree, you are directly admissible to the Master's in Entertainment Communication. In this 1-year Master's programme you will focus on the experience and impact of entertainment media and technology among a range of different groups and individuals, within different social contexts. 

  • Master's Corporate Communication

    After completing the Bachelor's degree, you are directly admissible to the Master's in Corporate Communication. This 1-year Master's programme will give you a thorough understanding of the communication of both private and public organisations with their environment.

  • Master's Political Communication

    After completing the Bachelor's degree, you are directly admissible to the Master's in Political Communication. This 1-year Master's programme gives you an understanding of the role and significance of media, journalism and information in shaping public opinion.

Professions for Communication Scientists 

The career prospects for communication scientists are generally good and there is a variety of job opportunities open to them. Some examples of jobs currently held by our graduates include:  

  • Producer or editor
  • Communications adviser at a company, cultural institution or government body
  • Media planner
  • Campaign manager of a political party during the elections
  • Marketing executive of a big publishing group
  • Strategist at an advertising company
  • Spokesperson of a company, a foundation or the government
  • Journalist
