Master's programmes

After obtaining your Bachelor's degree in Communication Science you can specialise by choosing a Master's programme, in a specific field. The Graduate School of Communication offers the following one-year Master's programmes:

Research Master's Communication Science

If you have a special interest in research, you can apply for the two-year Research Master's in Communication Science. Apart from the possibility of an academic career, the programme also prepares you for a career with marketing and research agencies, or a research career in governmental organisations.
Because there is only space for a limited number of students each year, there is a selection procedure for admission to this programme. The selection committee assesses applicants' qualifications, motivation and affinity with scientific research.

Erasmus Mundus Master's

If you want to go abroad during your Master's, then the Erasmus Mundus Master's in Journalism, Media and Globalisation might be interesting. This two-year international Erasmus Mundus Master's programme explores the practices and performance of journalism and the media in the context of a changing society shaped by globalisation, modernisation, commercialisation and professional developments.

The programme offers students a unique experience of studying in two European countries. Students spend the first year in Aarhus, Denmark, and then transfer to another university to specialise in one of four distinct areas of journalism. The cities of choice are Amsterdam, Hamburg, London or Swansea (Wales).
