Step 3. Submit your Online application

After registering in Studielink, you will receive an email with your 8-digit UvA student number (UvA-net ID) and an email with instructions for the next step of the online application process. The online application system is called Embark.

Online application procedure in Embark

Follow the instructions sent to you by email after registering in Studielink. You will be directed to start your online application in the Embark system.

Start your application in Embark by creating a new account. Please note: this is not connected to Studielink or your UvA-net ID, you need to create a seperate account in Embark. Should you have technical issues with the Embark system, you can get in touch via support@embark.com.

Completing your online application

A complete application form consists of:

  • Proof of identity (Passport, EU ID card etc)
  • UvA-net ID/studentnumber (after registration in Studielink / you can submit the application with an inactive UvA-net ID)
  • English language test score (if applicable)
  • Diploma + transcript, or expected transcript of grades 
  • If your diploma and/or transcripts are not in English, Dutch or German (Abitur), we need an official translation as well as the original document.
  • CV
  • Motivation letter (helpful for the assessment of your application. If you don't have a motivation letter please upload a blank Word document)
  • Motivation letter Scholarship (if applicable)

If you have not yet obtained your diploma, please submit all grades obtained up until the moment of application. 

Handling fee for students with a diploma or degree obtained outside the Netherlands

The handling fee for students with a diploma or degree obtained outside the Netherlands to submit the application form at UvA - Economics and Business is €100. If you are accepted and enrolled in the programme, you will receive a refund of €75. The handling fee will not be refunded in case you're not accepted to the programme or if you withdraw your application.
