Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the Bachelor's programme in Psychology. You will find a lot of answers here about enrollment, Studielink, requirements, the application form and the application outcome.
Our application portal Studielink will be open from 1 October 2019 till 15 January 2020.
We are currently updating the entry requirements for 2019-2020. As of September 2018, these will be available on the website.
We offer 600 places.
This is a message that Studielink shows automatically. You can ignore this message as long as you complete the entire application procedure before the deadline (see information listed under the header 'application and admission' on the our website). If we receive your application on time, our credential evaluation team will verify whether your degree meets the standards of our programme.
Note that the Student Desk Psychology cannot speed up the process of sending you the link to the application form. Please make sure you register on time. We recommend you start your application at least a couple of days before the deadline, in order to avoid complications or delay.
You will receive a confirmation via MyInfo when we received your application. You can check your status yourself via MyInfo.
Yes, the lectures, materials and exams are in English. The tutorials are offered in both English and Dutch.
Whether or not you meet the requirements is something we can check after having received your application. We do not do pre-checks of your curriculum to see whether you are eligible.
It is initially up to your judgement to see if you meet the requirements for the Bachelor’s programme in Psychology. We know this may be difficult being a student from another country. However, we can only evaluate your file once we have received your entire application.
Check the list of country qualifications. These qualifications are approved for admission to the Bachelor's programme in Psychology.
In order to be eligible, you have to meet the academic requirements as listed on the entry requirements page. Work experience can be an addition to, but no substitute, for the academic requirements.
If you have a deficiency in mathematics, you are able to take an additional exam to make up the deficiency. An example of such an exam is the mathematics A exam of the James Boswell Institute. We do not accept SAT-scores.
We don’t have special entry requirements for mature students. Every student needs to meet the requirements to be able to participate in the selection procedure.
All information about accepted diploma’s and grades can be found in the diploma calculator. If no specific grades are mentioned, you do not need to obtain specific grades. You then only have to pass your exams to be eligible for admission.

We use a standard application form that is used by several programmes of the UvA. There is no application fee for the Bachelor’s programme of Psychology, so you can ignore that message.
We will send the results in the week of 1-7 April 2020; you will receive your ranking number in the week of 8-15 April 2020.
Please upload a scan of your passport or European ID card (both sides) through uva.nl/en/uploadid. Make sure that your passport is still valid and that the scan is clear and legible.
We have 600 places. Anyone who receives an offer has 14 days to accept or decline the offer. If no action is taken after 14 days, the offer will expire. As soon as an offer is declined or expired, a place becomes available for a new student. Your ranking number does not change, so even with ranking numbers above 600 it is possible to get an offer.
Yes, we do accept a notary certified copy of your diploma.
