The Czech Republic: a fascinating EU member state in the heart of Europe with a rich and noisy history. With such writers and directors as Milan Kundera and Miloš Forman, the Czech Republic also boasts a world-renowned literary and film tradition. In the minor Czech you will acquire basic auditory, writing, and reading skills, and practise your conversation skills. During the language classes you will also get introduced to diverse aspects of Czech daily life and culture.

Doing a language minor takes a considerable amount of effort. Besides attending the intensive lectures, you will also spend ample time on self-study and on the preparation of tests related to vocabulary, listening skills and grammar, even if you have prior knowledge of the language.

This minor is offered by the Faculty of Humanities. The faculty’s minors consist of 30 ECTS credits and earn you a second qualification that will be listed on the transcript accompanying your degree certificate.
